Another step to fulfill my dream!

Yahoo!!! Pulled out an all-nighter with this dress. :P

After finishing my pattern I'm so happy! But... when I started using my sewing machine, I was like...

"I think my sewing machine is broken...! It won't stitch!"

OMG! What to do? What to do?

...And then I thought of a solution an hour later. Figuratively... it went well. I fixed the footer with a glue gun. Hahaha. When I execute a little pressure to the footer it was more accurate than before, it kinda became... BRAND NEW.

I'm so happy! I thought my-effort-for-finishing-this-dress-the-next-4-to-6-hours-(deadline)-will-not-become-a-dream-come-true

Yep. I'm a certified and licensed crammer.

The next time I'll create a draped dress, I won't do it in a pattern paper if it's not for mass production, because I think it's easier draping with a mannequin.

► Materials: I used a pattern paper, then I transfer it to my spandex/ stretch fabric.;
Portable sewing machine (singer);
Camera: Canon EOS 60d; Post Production: Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
► Subject: Haute Couture
► Professor: Ma'am Brigid
► School: Fashion Institute of the Philippines, Shaw Boulevard.

Anyways, this is my second dress, ever. The first one was made with canvass cloth.

This cute drape dress is my 1st fashion design in a good fabric, spandex, for my Haute Couture project. I sew it myself, I have not taken any sewing class yet. But I'm determined to learn soon (hopefully next week!) because it is easier to understand the art of fabric when you know "everything" on how to sew.

So wondering how I kind of know how to sew? Well because when I was in high school, I really like sewing, but I'm so lazy. I only love starting something then hate finishing it because it's just so tiring. Then when I went to college, I enrolled in bag design course here at the same fashion school. I finished some bags already (It's here in another post). Our Professor Paul Hererra taught us the basics of bag pattern making, materials, fusing, and sewing. Then I use the power of Youtube to complete my sewing capabilities. There you go! Haha. And I'm really excited to have a real lesson soon here at the same school too.

My trip and walkthrough to Taytay Palengke!

Grabe talaga ang byahe papuntang Taytay palengke for my fabric crave!

I wanted to try out Taytay market to buy fabrics for my fashion projects at FIP. And it was haggard (crazy) as blaze. I was excited to go but afraid to be lost. Good thing my brother traveled with me. Thank you bro!

So... how do you get there from SM Centerpoint Sta. Mesa?

First off, wait for the bus that has a placard of "Taytay" at the front of SM Centerpoint Sta. Mesa and then tell to the conductor "Palengke po." And that costs Php 40. I know! It's so pricey. You could buy a lunch with that. *Student-state* Hahaha. It's expensive because your travel would be like an hour and a half.

You can also ride "Taytay" bus somewhere in SM Megamall, just ask for directions where to find that bus' transport, and you'll be ok.

Remember to ask the conductor every now and then if you're close to "Taytay Palengke". And when the time has finally arrived, you will be dropped off at the Manila East Road JOLLIBEE.

I'm not really a pro here, I've only been here in Taytay market for the first time and for about an hour of shopping. So this documentation isn't that big, complete, and elaborated.

I just drooled at the shot I made. It looks so cool! Hahaha, what do you think? I liked the timing of my composition, it was a beautiful accident shot with my phone. <3

Anyways, this store is "Telahan sa plaza". If you would notice, the one at the most left part is already closed. I think their closing time is at 5:00pm. I bought a really cute brown polka dots stretch fabric from them. It was Php 150 per kilo, and the piece I bought was Php 61, I guess it was about half kilo. And when I checked, it was about more than 1 yard! I'd go to this store a second time if I can!

They sell almost everything, from bobbin cases, to plastic boning, to chiffons, satins, hair clothes, and more!

I super want this! I won't tell the price! Hahaha. It's too expensive since all the parts are BRAND NEW! Woohoo!!!

They sell 2nd hand head together with brand new tables, motors, etc. For Php 8,000- 9,000.

Overall, I expected this place would be better but it wasn't. It's great for stretch fabrics per kilo. But I haven't found about silk fabrics, maybe because I was in a hurry though. I thought almost all of the fabrics are per kilo, but the fabrics that I needed were sold per yard! I didn't anticipate that. Haha.

It is still more complete and cheaper in Divisoria, but sadly 100% of my friends who know the place said it's too dangerous going there especially when you're alone, but I haven't met any tragedies in all of my trips there (been there once alone too haha), perhaps I was fortunate. And my mom said that I should not go to Divisoria again.

So I'm only allowed to shop fabrics at Malls specifically at SM Megamall. :D I agree with my mom that it's better to spend a little higher for my safety since I only needed few yards. Calculating the fare to Divisoria plus the time that I'll be saving and the stress of worrying for my safety is fair enough to shop at SM because it's convenient, safe, and fast. And if in the future I'll be needing lots of fabrics, I'll probably look for a good supplier to come visit me instead of me going somewhere to buy them haha :P

Anyway, this would be a great bargain if your place is near Taytay. :D

My brand new mannequin!

Wohoo! Here's my brand new mannequin! You don't know how happy I am right now. :D

I still have a long way before I become a professional fashion designer, but with inspiration, perseverance, talent, attitude, and together with my parents' financial help, I just believe that I can make it!

I'm very excited for my graduation, whereas I can do anything I want and grab my dreams instantly. Graduating makes you feel complete, and eventually opportunities arise like a series of blinking of your eyes. Yes, it's too fast that I might become a workaholic freak. LOL

I'll be graduating twice. Hahaha. Hopefully next year I'll have my Fashion Institute of the Philippines Graduation Collection Competition! *Cross fingers* And after 2 years I'll graduate and receive my degree in Fine Arts major in Painting.

While writing this blog post, I'm very apprehensive about how my grammars and series of sentences or stories that are being written. Because I have to practice the right way. Maybe when you meet me in person and because I'm friendly and random... I'll soon be telling you a synopsis of a movie, and unintentionally I sometimes start from end to beginning or sometimes in random episode, and it will just make you think that the original story was so far away from how I shared it. LMAO.

Anyways, back to the mannequin. I really love it! And I really appreciate my parents for granting what I want. And also thanks to my brother for coming with me to get this mannequin, it was quite an adventure in Manila. I printed a map to prevent mistakes. But going back home was the hard part because searching a jeep to Quiapo was extraordinary rare. Talking with jeepney drivers was really helpful, good thing they were all kind to me. Hahaha :D

I really want to thank my Mom for being super supportive. She is the source behind on how and where to buy this mannequin, and she's also my inspiration to become a fashion designer. She encouraged me to be more creative and to level up my potential love for art and fabrics.

It should have been a one day plate, but since the required medium was color pencils on 12 x 18 drawing paper and that the given time was only less than 2 hours... our prof agreed to take our plate home and pass it next meeting.

Benro tripod is worth it

Yes! It is worth buying. For me it has a professional look and a durable structure. It is strong enough to maintain a DSLR camera too.

Why do you need a tripod?

- It will enhance your creative intention and quality for the final look of your photo because it will have a more steady shot, especially at night when you will need a slower shutter speed setting.

- Great for panorama shots.

- Enhances your video.

- Reduces blurred shots

- Good for portrait or studio shoot, especially when you use a remote for your DSLR camera.

My portraiture journey (process unfinish yet)

I used a reference (with the help of my lovely desktop), an easel with a plywood, a normal sketchpad, and 4h,4b, 6b, and 8b pencils.

I used an easel because I want to experience it while STANDING, and... I'm getting fat because of too much sitting. HAHAHA.

By the way, this isn't an art plate, this is just a personal art dedicated to my wonderful mom.

Here she is! My ever beautiful Mom, good thing she didn't become a celebrity (LOL) or I won't enjoy much time being and talking with her. She never failed to bring with her many inspiring words and values.

- My current work (Still unfinished)

-Okay, you won't see much from this pic, coz it's too light. I used a 4h pencil for the base sketch. It took me 35 mins. Man, that was hard. -.-

Process Continuation:

I then added some shadows and lines with a 4b. It came to my mind that "I can't do this" because I can't foresee the good outcome of my work. But I just have to persevere to make it more beautiful, still it's hard. XD

LOL! Look at my 6b, so short.

It is starting to look like my mom. :)

The hair!!! I just keep on continuing my strokes by instinct and used an 8b pencil.

The more I give time drawing this, the more content I feel. :)

I just recently thought, WHAT THE HECK AM I GOING TO DO WITH THE DRESS + BOUQUET?!!! LOL, goodluck to me.

Harry Potter and School plates as usual

Okay! I just watched HP with my brother and cousin, and the movie is just so EPIC. I really loved it! I want to watch it all over again. Haha. Btw, I cried watching, especially on Snape’s part.

I just can’t believe it had to end. But the decision is wise and the story is just well told.

J.K. Rowling is just the best writer!!! Though I haven’t read any of her BIG books since I don’t have time, LOL. Anyways, it’s depicted in the movie how genius she is with her creativity and her control of the beautiful flow of the story.

Because of the HP I liked talking British accent in school and at home. LOL.

Before we got home, we came across this Magic POP in SM mall that was so attractive in the crowd. Well it became more inviting to me because it’s a Korean product, and I remembered this was a food used in Boys over flowers. I JUST HAVE TO BUY IT. :) Lol. it’s pricey though. Costs about Php39 for one pack.

Then when I got home. I just have to do a school plate for my frustrating professor. I need to improve because he gives disappointing (lol) grades.

This isn’t done yet. I have to do some editing tomorrow. I really don’t like the aftermath, but… it took me a while to finish this. Damn, why do all my long work always ended up not being perfect for me. XD Practice, practice~

While drawing, I came across a great video-podcast in youtube. Secret! I won’t tell who he is. LMAO. Anyways, it was very inspiring and it made me realize many things. So I’ll do my best in my artworks and set no limitations. :)

Oh and here’s my oil pastel. I’ve bought it about 3 months ago, and only used it now, hahaha.

Being a Fine Arts student is kind of expensive. Bought all of this for Php 630 at M. Enriquez art store in Recto.

I was able to buy my dream water brush there, which was a whooping Php 128. It’s usually Php 300-400 in other art supply store, lucky me. :)

Cramming

It has been a while since I’ve blogged. I’ve been busy with training for my summer job (swim instructor, every sunday morning, yup I AM SO TAN right now), my course in advance fashion illustration at FIP (w/c will end next mon), and of course my art plates at FEU.

It’s so hard to oil paint for me, because our Professor explained about it orally, we haven’t seen an actual illustration of oil painting yet. I wished we had it to make things easier (I think). So this means that we, the students, would have to self study again (Or I think I’m the only one thinking about this, OTL ). =.=

This is a semi-final plate in our Design subject, and our reference is an oil painting by Vicente Manansala. Below is a reference photo worth Php 50.00, lol.

And here’s my unfinished work as of now:

I’ve been working on it for 3 days (3-5hours each I think)

And this one is another plate, I think it’s our finals. Not sure LOL, I have to make 3 of these (cropping the art is allowed), I have a partner, she’ll do another 3 to complete a cube kind-of-box, we’ll nail it or glue it all together.

I’ve been cleaning the house

This might sound funny but… I’ve been cleaning the house all day. Doing another batch of laundry cleaning-folding, washing the plates, cleaning the bathroom, and… organizing my room.

Then I decided to speed sketch something semi-anime for 11 + minutes:

I love handsome face with nice hair, tall and has a manly heart. Hehe. This is a speed piece so so mistakes are visible in some parts (and I didn’t use any erasers, and just drew this while I was sitting on bed), but I had fun anyways.

I have many things to prioritize, but I can’t concentrate when my world is in a mess.
(You know what I mean )

Many ART PLATES are lining up for finals, and I have to move fast. Been really inactive in deviantart these days, I’ll do my best to update more from now on. Fighting!!!

I love doodles! Especially in my random notebooks during class since gradeschool (I’m so proud, lol) , but I still get high grades, because I CRAM at school. Hahaha. *Evil Laugh* Seriously, it was tiring. But now I enjoy studying in fine arts, less memorizing more high grades for my minors, muhahahahaha. But I still have to improve my art skills, so FIGHTING!!!

Psst, I like doodling mostly during Theology class (since grade school to college in UST Accountancy) and CAT (Citizenship Advancement Training, my rank was G1-P, a secretary, ) lecture lessons, and also during exams, when I finish my math related subjects, I draw at the solutions page (back) it was one of my most beautiful doodles, though I forgot where my papers went. Hehe.

I draw so much character sheets, but never was I able to finish all of it. I always have a story in mind, but it was scattered, I need a notebook for my ideas, :D

Look here! It’s my debut invitation left overs. Ahh, good times, I created the design, printed it, folded the invitation, taped-organize-etc, and distributed to friends and family. It’s that simple, or not If you’re having a debut, prepare it at least a month before. If you want to have invitations made for you, go to stalls in SM malls, or if you’re in a budget, try visiting Recto, Quiapo, and Divisoria, they have plenty of features.

My sweet friend Aki won Php 20,000 in Show time (Philippine tv show in ABS-CBN network) She gave out a very thoughtful party at Yellow Cab, and bought these cute kiddy party hats, funny I know, but that’s who she is. And what’s more is that she even signed each one of our hats:

I just came from San Miguel Ortigas for my PhilHealth application, for my pre-employment requirement as a swim instructor in a certain swim school (will announce it later), and man the waiting line took so long about 30-40 minutes. Since I had my number reserved I went to have my lunch in the same building.

Then on my way to Recto, there was a probability of an accident:

I know I was going to be late at my design class in FEU but I still have my attendance checked, Lol. Lucky I guess.

Walking and walking again

I was preparing myself for school, but I became so lazy somehow, so I came to class late, but since it was just time for the attendance I was not recorded as late, lol. ^_^

Thereinafter our prof simply gave an essay task about our holiday experience and when finished we are free to go. So I did my best and off I go! >.< And since I have like a 15 min. class (because during Wednesdays I only have one class) I still have time to go to SM Mall because I need a pen nib refill, which I really REALLY need. I’m frustrated that sometimes my tablet is having errors, but thankfully it’s working perfectly now. I don’t know how but it must’ve been a miracle lol.

I wonder how many times I’ve said "lol".

I’ve been to SM Sta. Mesa, and spent about an hour or so of WALKING but no luck. And I kept on asking from many computer stores, but most of them don’t know pen tablets and doesn’t accept special orders vice versa. So while I was WALKING I saw a yogurt stall, and of course I was kinda hungry so I ordered one. LMAO!

They aren’t like any other stores, because their table is at the middle of the walking space in the mall.

It tasted great! Goodbye my savings of P65.00. It could’ve tasted better if I have someone with, (Yup, I was alone) so after taking this pic I eat while walking (which is my habit). o.o

Since there was no luck in finding my OBJECTIVE, I went to SM Megamall, >.< How tiring, because I have to ride a jeep of ‘Pasig Quiapo’ from SM Sta. Mesa where I have to WALK a long mile before I arrive to SM Megamall. And since this is “MEGA” more WALKING job is here again, LMAOLMAO!!! Here’s the map/ store locator (if you want to know how big it is). It's recommended to study it before going to save time.

Hahaha, but at least I found a little hope here. I was given a phone number of Wacom Philippines head manager and so I called the landline using my phone. Then they said they’re not sure when but they will contact me if they already have a stock.

By the way, this new Wacom product is really interesting. I saw this in SM Megamall at Octagon in Cyberzone, it’s still available if you’re interested. Hope I’ll be able to have that someday

Plates and Projects (Part 2 of 2)

Look at my messy room! It was just so clean and tidy an hour ago. But since I was doing projects and experiments… everything became distorted. LOL. Because when I needed a certain material, I tend to search it in every corner of my room, and most of the time I usually search it in a hurry and leave things flying around… thus everything became messy.

I love this plate so much! I actually re-did it. On the right side was done at school with not much of a reference, because there was no model in front of us which I thought there would be, but my prof was weird so we relied on photographs which I didn’t have (So I did some experiments). And on the left side is the 2nd take which was occupied with a reference.

I was surprised myself that I was able to do this, LMAO! But somehow, it looks better in camera than in RL.

*Sigh* after hours and hours of work, I only manage to have a grade of 1.50 which is equivalent to 90-91 % grade…

Computer wips

My beloved Jaejoong! I hope I’ll finish this one very very soon. And note that this is not a “Vector”, I simply traced the lines of his face with a tablet for practice, then I colored and also drew his hair with my own techniques based on the reference I have.

Plates and Projects (Part 1 of 2)

There’s a sudden change of situation now that I’m having my 2nd sem in Fine Arts. Lots of major subjects, lots of plates (most are assignments *sigh*), and most of my professors seem to give grades lower than what I expected, I don’t even know if it’s deserving, coz some of my classmates’ plates which had a very professional creative render only got 89-90% grade. I guess favoritism is at stake.

MEANING: Work harder + inspiration – (procrastination + distraction) = higher grades

Imagine, have you ever heard a professor suggest you shift to tourism? How rude, he’s very self centered and doesn’t even appreciate much of his student’s arts.

I practiced sculpting, but sad to say is that this one is a failure. Lol, too many cracks. This is a self hardening clay, you can buy this at any art or crafts store, it’s cheap and good for practice. I’ll be self studying this sooner or later <3

This one above was not drawn by me, but by my good friend Tekla* (Thank you!!!) This was her final plate last sem which was recently returned to her. She used oil and a cardboard-like linen board. She’s very talented and nice >.<

She gave it to me because she wants to have my self portrait drawing (below), meaning we had an art trade.

I gave this sketch to her, which she liked. I was practicing on drawing myself through speed sketching, and I guess it turned out well but not the exact thing as to my reference.

This was my reference picture which at the same time printed in 3r format, LOL she also took this with her!!! I got myself a new fan, lol!

And below is a sketch of something related to Cleopatra design. This was drawn at the back of the paper where my self portrait was drawn.

On Nov. 26, 2010, I had my first experience in cooking!!! It was so fun, and tiring at the same time lol! But at least it tasted good. T.T *Tears of Joy*

My first ever dish is a Korean food [Korean Tofu stew]. My recipe was from Maangchi. She’s very informative and nice. ^_^

Lol! Up here is my “Baunan” or my packed lunch. My first time doing it in college. I’m now a conscious person in money. >.< Hehe, the Toy story spoon and fork is so cute!
Remember, beware of your budget and save Mother Earth at the same time! ^_^

School update

What a tiring day!

11-08-10 Tiring day.

Ok I just experienced another boring, tiring, irritating day. I was very hopeful to have a POL 1N (Political Science) subject which I really need. Since I only have 14units, and with a hole of 4 hours during Saturday, I could never find my semester less boring. Well, good thing I DID EVERYTHING I COULD and finally made my wish granted from 8:50am to 2:15pm, FINALLY after 5 long hours (4th day). I’m so fed up waiting. I can’t believe the management was this complicated, most of the people managing this event said that I have no other choice since POL 1n was already full (which was false), others said it doesn’t show in my record that I could take it, maybe because it was too advance for me ,etc. Though I was so disappointed with what they told me, someone even told me "ang kulit kulit mo naman eh, sabi ng wala ng available eh!” in front of other people" this kind of response made me wanna burst out with anger but I just decided to calm down and didn't lose hope.

Since I know that I can take an advance subject, (I know coz I was able to add 2 subjects last sem), I didn't stop from inquiring even if it meant waiting in line again. And finally, an Adviser/Encoder gave me a note allowing me to take POL1N.

Well, I wish they have at least posted the available subjects and schedule AND MANUALS for more information the result could’ve been better. I’m not the only student who’s been here and done these, in fact many students came out to be diffident so I was lucky enough to have my Mom who guided me well through the phone and some friends who gave me options and advices. I actually handled this for 4 days, so have you ever experienced a 4 day enrollment?

I just want to RANT to remove all the painful moments I encountered for 5 days. I wish FEU put more approachable and knowledgeable encoders next enrollment. And tnx to Ate Alma who is always approachable and knows every answer to my question, except she's only assigned to encode for the transferrees.

I did everything, and somehow it’s worth it. They were saying all kinds of negative words, and I’m tired of it! Well waddya look at here, I got what I wanted and NEEDED, so thanks for the guidance from some of the people that were there who actually gave me a helping hand, and of course almost all of the credit goes to my Mom, who is very supportive, thanks! I love you

So now, I have 17 units included are 11 units of complete major subjects. Hereinafter I’m a person who have a very disappointing schedule because every Tuesday and Friday , both 7:30am to 6:00pm with 3 hours vacant in the morning. I really don't like my current class schedule. So I guess I’ll be heading out to the library But during lunchtime I would be like… eating alone

I got a GWA of 1.17, four flat uno (1.00) but sad to say is that I’m not qualified for an automatic full scholarship because I’m an irregular student, so I’ll just do my best and work harder and hope to be a dean’s lister.

After a hard time, it’s fashion design crime!

Anyways after this, I hurriedly went out and search for a bus heading out to “Fairview”. Yay! Another new adventure! It was my first time riding a bus here in Manila.

It was quite disappointing on how old the bus is, but I was kinda happy and excited because I’m riding it for the first time on my own. It’s an old bus imported from Japan, Fangirl mode lol, so I was imagining how mangas or Japanese had ridden this bus during ancient times (or way back, just a figure of speech lol).

Then I arrived to FIP (Fashion Institute of the Philippines) safely! My classmates were like… Whoa! So social. Most of them were English speaking, they came from LA, I think. Well anyways, I really expect a lot from this class! I want to learn so much, because I want to expand my creativity with fabrics. I wish to be successful as soon as possible.

After the class, I was troubled how to get back home to our apartment here in Manila at Sta. Mesa, good thing I came back safely LOL!

My mom’s bday

I really love my mom! XD Though I didn’t have any physical gift to present to her, I did manage to do my best at school, so I guess it’s considered a gift for her. Hehe.

We had a family time together here in Manila, they (My parents and brothers) came from Subic for a double purpose. Since my classes have started this Nov. 3, they went here in Nov. 6 (my mom’s bday) so that my brother and the things we needed can be transported here in Manila. So hence forward this was an opportunity to celebrate here.

1st semester has finally ended

My first semester here has finally ended. I’m studying at FEU by the way. So many things to do so little time. I also had a bag making 1 class in the FIP: Fashion Institute of the Philippines, it went well but it was so hard because you have to be patient and you should persevere to finish a project, you have to manage time well. It would take you hours to finish one bag, nevertheless you should take care of the quality too.

Ahh! My hands! It really was a hard thing to do, the cutting and all. Anyways, while doing my finals plate, I’m so into DBSK. Their talent is so out of this world! AKTF!!! Too bad I only recently knew about them, sighs** anyways JYJ Fighting!!!

I kinda like this design. I RETOUCHED or EDITED IT SEVERAL TIMES ALREADY!!! I was so tired because it was not satisfying and unprofessional like. This is a logo of our business project or whatsoever. My friends said that it was nice, groovy, and some said it was childish and that I should just make a new one. BUT! I’m so tired and just added some glitters, LMAO OTL. :)

Ahhh!!!!!!!!! My bro’s best friend pictured me. XD I’m not really good at piano, the only song I still know is Canon but there were skips and errors. And the other songs I knew were all erased in my memory otl. BTW, it’s kinda weird, when I was cleaning some things, I saw my autograph book when I was in elementary, and I wrote that my dream would be a great pianist someday. LOL! I guess our young hearts have a road twisted when we eventually would grow to something different.

Now that semester ended, I’m here at my hometown, SUBIC, having a nice time, and working out my butt to get some things done. Here’s my working place atm, hahahaha.

TOO BAD I FORGOT MY PEN FOR MY TABLET, AAAAHHHH, I HAVE TO WAIT TILL WEDNESDAY TO START CG-ING (my bro will deliver it) OTLLLLLL. >.<

Here’s the graduation show of FIP. It was so professional and breathtaking! I love the show! Too bad I came late and watched from the 3rd floor of SM North, nevertheless the experience was worth it!

Their preparation was rather poor, it was re-sched from 1pm to 4pm, but it started at about 5:15pm, nevertheless the show was quite good. There were RTW and Houte Coutures that were presented in themes.

Here comes my new lover!!!

Yes my new SEXY lover! Love at first sight! July 3, 2010!!! I’ve been waiting and wishing for this moment… So good bye my ex-Toshiba Celeron 2004v, it’s been nice working with you for 2(+)years… I’ll never forget how you made wonders with your specs, but I really did have fun with you and managed to create my artworks with your cooperation Wew! Actually I don’t have any regrets at all at least I experienced how it was to have a laptop. ^_^

So here’s my new HP PAVILION S5290D PC, INTEL CORE 2 QUAD DUO Q8400 2GB DDR3, 320GB HDD. *The screen is 20 inch LCD :P* Faints* C-core 2…q-quad.. :D lmao, that’s super fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (for me, and for all, <3 ). We bought a separate video graphic card for it.. 1GB. To play games??? Lol!

Lol! I pictured this while the cover was still on. :) Me and my brother had a hard time flipping the monitor up. As you can see on the first part of the drawing in the monitor, you’ll be flipping it up like what you do on a laptop. Too bad HP didn’t give us a free desktop table unlike the last time when my mom bought her own. Yeah! Finally I have a webcam now!

Well, ever since classes started, I’ve been busy cleaning the apartment L LOL! Yeah, I was so excited moving my study table and art stuffs from my bedroom to our living room. Yeah no room for visitors... INTENTIONALLY :P hahaha! So our living room is now my art room wahaha! And I’ve been busy installing programs.

I’m so blessed coz my parents are so supportive when it comes to my needs. They probably won’t buy this pc if I didn’t shift to Fine Arts haha. But in return, mom wants to see at least (1) one new artwork from me PER DAY! She really wants me to give my best to this course!

I’m getting ready to self study ADOBE 4. So I really hope to produce better artworks soon!

Btw, with regards to my previous poll (from eizu.deviantart.com), I decided to keep the 20k my grandma gave me for my 18^th bday, saving it to pay for DSLR when I enroll to photography (still insufficient I know!). I still want intuos 4 (or would wait for the v5) but my bamboo tablet is still good so I’d rather not waste money.

Ok, so she treated me and my brother to lunch at Yellow cab!!! Wow! I think it’s been a year or two since I get to eat there again.

The Pizza was really really awesome!!! The chicken was also superb!!!

Learning is fun

June 29,2010 (Late post)

I’m having another hip and happy day again! <3

In my drawing fundamentals class, I learned that there are many kinds of of method to sharpen your pencils.

Now I know how our prof feels when sharpening his pencils for half a day (sometimes not everyday, lol) when he prepares himself in sketching and drawing. Hehehe.

I admit! Sharpening this kind of pencil is hard, look at the broken lead. (Sayang) It was a waste since I kinda made a mistake. :O

*The cardboard look-alike is a sandpaper, though I don’t know what it’s really called. The employee of the art store I went for materials just recommended me to buy it. So if you’re planning to buy it, try to define it as something related to sandpaper (with a handle or whatsoever you could come up with, lmao)

Come to think of it. Being a fine arts student is really expensive. *Sigh* Coz’ I list my expenses, that’s why I’m so sure of it… *Creates-a-budget-management-schedule-churva* :)

I was doing the letter “D” here to create specific lines in our plate. :)

Before the sharpening mode, I kinda sketched something weird, hehe:

Then I came home like 5:00 pm, but the official dismissal was really 6:00 pm (since our plate became an assignment, we were dismissed early) It wasn’t really raining hard, so most of the roads was not really over flooded. XD

(Peo nung nakauwi na me sa aparment, biglang lumakas ung ulan, aun, xempre alam nyo naman d2 sa Sampaloc, Manila, madaling bumaha…)

But after a few minutes when I got home, it really hit the road. Boom! Here comes the flood. ~

Hi! I'm Diana Santos who's well known as Eizu in the cyber net zone.
I am the eldest and the only daughter with 3 brothers in my family.

I was born in Olongapo City, Philippines. Yeah 100% Filipina and the only dialect I can speak is Tagalog. I can also understand and speak English, a little of Korean and Japanese languages. Our family's favorite hang out is at SBMA. See their website it's the former US Naval base at Subic.

I want to be an entrepreneur and take good care of my own family someday. And will also continue my love for arts and music.

After college graduation I want to have enough training and improve my skills in fashion designing and fine arts (digital and traditional artworks) and of course photography. Then have my own Studio and Couture shop. ecchos :)) Then go to Japan, Milan, New York, aaand Paris lol!
The knowledge I gained from my two years in accountancy is probably quite enough in handling my future finances.

Fighting Pimples: 10 Tips how to prevent acne the natural way

I was just googling about how to remove pimples and the good thing is that many tips and tricks are available for me to learn. And yes, I’m gonna share it with you too! I’m sure that these tips will be helpful for me and to you.

Many people say that products, chemicals, and drugs are not very effective in terms of the consumer’s needs and moreover it makes the acne in serious condition, and some others say that it is only for a short term basis. Well be at peace because there are WAYS to be pimple free the long term and the natural way!

Some of the opinions, tips, and research belongs to E-zine Articles, Pimples on Face, About, Bubz Beauty, and some few belongs to me. I just couldn’t have my own since I’m a newbie and my opinion might not be accepted. So in other words, this article is a compilation of many minds.

10 Ways how to fight pimples:

Supplement yourself with vitamins These vitamins should be taken daily: Zinc, Vitamins A, B and E, echinacea, thyme, and tree tea oil. Vitamin B complex is the most important part of the equation and will have the most immediate effects for clearing up pimples on the face.
Drink enough water Do drink a full water first thing in the morning to get a nice and fresh feeling. Drinking 8-10 glasses a day is a must. Water keeps the skin moist and hydrated which helps prevent pimples on face. Water also helps keep the digestive system clean which allows the body to flush out the toxins that could be causing acne breakouts.
Eating correctly I'm sure you already know that fatty and greasy foods will lead to pimple outbreaks and cause zits, and this is true and you should avoid eating these foods as much as possible. But there are also foods that help prevent face pimples. Carbohydrate foods with a low glycemic index is a natural way for healthy skin complexion. These types of foods produce low fluctuations in your blood glucose and insulin levels, and is an often missed health secret. Glycemic’s benefits and info can be found here and its lists of foods.
Include chromium in your diet…Eat carrots for beta-carotene (Vitamin A) also check out the chakra or energy chart.
Sleep right and shower twice a day Sleeping 8 hours can greatly affect your beauty, lessen stress, and increase good impression. Your body is using this time to restore itself and also helps to fight off bacteria. This is the best supplement I can give you and it really works. Bathing twice a day, at the start of your day and before you sleep, can get rid all of the oils and dirt away and gives you a fresh feeling.

Plus, when you squeeze, you are actually rupturing the membranes below your skin, causing infection and sebum to spread underneath your skin. The result is more pimples.
Wash your pillow case every other day Your face lays on your pillow case every day. Your pillow case absorbs the oils from your skin and reapplies the dirt and oil. Thus causing breakouts. Keep your sheets and pillow cases clean.
Wash twice a day with acne soap You should wash your face twice a day with a sulfur based soap designed for acne. Once when you first wake up in the morning and then, right before you go to bed at night. Be extremely gentle to your skin when washing - do not scrub or use any sort of rough cloth. Overwashing your skin will actually stimulate your sebaceous glands to produce more sebum, thus increasing your acne.
Notes: It is a good thing for people to learn more and research the benefits of second supplements like vitamins because it has an effect that is very useful for the body and for the health of the skin. I recommend myself to buy a vitamin book or just borrow from my Mom for a good guidance in fitness and health.

Woohoo! Yesterday, we had a really great summer beach party experience with my family and the whole Bautista Family. It was a really fun and memorable day! Not to mention the pain of sunburn of being out for the whole day. XD

There were lots of foods and… foods again! So for me it was really fun. Lmao, I’m getting fat, need to exercise. O:

*Ang itim itim ko nah, hehe. Nakabilad ba naman sa araw!* My dream is to have a white perfect skin, now it’s all broken, need to use an umbrella and apply sunscreen lotion every time I go out. :))

I kind of like how my 2 younger bros. have in common! PS. I have 3 younger bros. and I’m the eldest. :3

My cousins. In our family, most have only one daughter each. We (me, and my female couz) are lucky enough to have been the princess in the family. :D

Many things had happened, and memorable imagery unfolded miraculously... that made December 22-23, 2009 the best prime-time night I've ever had!!! At the start of my debut, I delivered a speech to my guests which was quite a cram but I did my best out of it, lol... This is a really late post, which is after four months or so, well one of the reasons is because of school, and the other one is the unavailability of internet connection…

SPEECH:

A pleasant evening to each and everyone. It's been a night of endeavors, contentment, and yet another new circle of memories. I'm ever more glee to have all of you right here at my very special night filled with hilarious, thoughtful preparations and programs. This exclusive night would not be possible if it weren't for my loving parents Joseph and Elizabeth Santos, whose special event that dated the same day of my birth, their Happy 19th Wedding Anniversary. My words of thanks couldn't mean so deep by words for being here at this very occasional night with everyone that made me who I am, what I am, and why I am here in front of you. As I turn 18, I will finally embark a new journey, it might not be that of a change from my last venture, but this time it will be filled with more extraordinary, contagious, and more surprising than before. Dad, Mom, to my family and friends good evening and let's start the party we've been waiting for!

So yeah, the speech was kinda corny and all :D Anyways I did it on my own and am proud of it. Speaking about it, my mom mentioned that one of my relatives appreciated it, haha. It made me laugh and happy at the same time…

Firstly is to my loving parents. If it weren't for them NONE of this magical night would have ever existed in my life. Without their financial and emotional support, I wouldn’t have explored the world I was destined to travel. Thank you for letting me go to where I want, for having what I need, for trusting me truthfully with all your hearts, and enjoying of what is best! I love you, and will always will be…

To my relatives who came and even made adjustments from tight schedules and some was able to attend from long distance places. I really love being surrounded by family relatives because I know that they are always approachable in neither without terms of time, place, nor how! Ever since I was a little girl, I’m easily adoptable in their environment. What I’m saying is that wherever they are I can still feel that we have the same place it was before.

To my MANILA close friends and classmates who sacrificed their time in order to have permits of acceptance from their parents just so they could attend. So sweet! Also to those who followed up, who did not joined the free trip from Manila to Subic, especially Shirley, lol we never imagined to be as brave as you that has the instinct of direction especially to a place she had never been to. She actually made all the right decisions and made it “exactly” at our house. To Patricia, who was actually escorted by her dad in order to go to my debut safely and approved, thank you [also i was shocked to see your beautifully wrapped gift, so cute!!!] To Erik, who also followed up, I’m so happy you did too. Thank you so much!!! :D To Fatima, who also came with her parents, thank you! Mwah! I adore her camera, she really did a great job capturing the right opportunities in terms of smile and attractive lights to effect the overall cause of the pic. To Mira for being able to attend my memorable bday, she had a hard time and couldn’t just decide because her parents restricts her to go far other else than Manila, specifically about 2-4 hours of distance. And I’m happy she could attend, she must’ve created some magic to receive a “Yes, you can also attend her b-day” haha! Love you! To my best group of friends I had never had before: girlfriends and boyfriends, thank you very much for coming! I also want to thank those people who were not able to come because of opposing events and weren’t approved by their parents, because they greeted me wholeheartedly and it was really not their fault, it was because of ill-weathered decisions. Thank you ^_^ Patricia, Erik, Danica, Van, JC, Mira, Bayug, Shirley, Fatima, Kensen, Ali, Je, Kenneth, Bryan, Jayson, Harren, Bam, SJ, Ton-ton :D

To my HIGHSCHOOL classmates and batch mates! Well, this November 28 is the celebration of my very close friend's 18th birthday.
It was so much fun and a very memorable experience to have a party moment with everyone. She was just surprised with the program and everything she didn’t know about especially our video presentation that made her laughed out loud.

Ok and right now,. I’m having a really hard time preparing my debut invitation, since many said that they’ll try, or not sure… I really hoped that all of them will come. XD

I decided to stop my violin lessons and continue on vacation time only, coz schooling is so tough and it is more important that I pass all of my subjects. Studying here at UST is so stressful. When I was in first year college, we have 23 sections. Many got kicked out, now we only have 17 sections in BS Accountancy, plus 4 sections taking up Managerial Accounting which has no licensure exam but it is said they have advantage because it is in demand in foreign countries... And if I fail in my accounting subject, I'll be kicked too T__T, I only have one chance. I can retake it but can't go back to BS Accountancy, I have to shift to Managerial Accounting or any other course. But I won't let that happen, of course! Fighting!!! :D

Hehehehe, but i really dunno about my inspiration lasting for a very long time, maybe a week or so.
I'll just be productive as I can, I've been so dead in my deviantart account without a single NEW artwork.

“While I was trying to fight art block, I was amazed to know recently that I have finished a full sketch book with sketches. Maybe I should not call it an art block but perhaps, art cramming.. lol. I have so much art works in my mind and don’t even know which one to finish first. I have so much stories in mind for my upcoming manga, sweet scent. I was busy trying to finish my websites (blog and main)… argg.. trying to make the codes work correctly is annoying. My comment page on meizuffu.blogspot.com isn’t working still T_T.

I have to learn how to manage my art time … professionally ... eherm.. hoping.. AJA!!!

Whenever I imagine an artwork, I really have to write it down. So even if I was working on something else, I still have to sketch what I had in mind to keep my focus. I was busy trying to be good on other art mediums, like water colour, colour pencil, paint… wow I really feel good now.

And thanks to my new home here in Manila. I was having so much time for myself compared to last year when I was living at a catholic ladies dorm, where I have room mates. Well, the advantage of living there was I met new friends. But I love living with just my bro and my male cousin in our 3-BR apartment (rented). Doing house chores is fine with me now hehe…. got used to it. I love that I still have the time to draw now even if I have school works, compared to last year that I can only draw during vacation/holidays.

And I am glad that my bro is here now, we go home together. Hehe he is so patient, he waits for me everyday … Tuesdays and Thursdays might be tiring for him coz he has to wait or come back for me, his last class ends 1 ½ hour earlier than mine. I’m also glad that he finally joined the DA community after months of convincing him http://macreeve.deviantart.com . Oh well, he loves drawing monsters hehe, so don’t be surprised in case new monsters are created, that might be my bro’s contribution to the world haha.

All right... First of all, I thought that learning the violin is easy to handle and for a few lessons you could graduate yourself to a new level! But... I was wrong... It's so terribly hard! But I don't want to lose and give up, I love my violin so much.

My first day was tough. My teacher, Miss Fatima, wanted to hear me play. Even though I had a previous lesson a few years ago, I can't play a single thing! Because my previous teacher didn't teach me the important part, but seriously he didn't really teach me anything. I was ashamed, but gradually I'm happy that I met her even though the tutorial fee at the University is a bit expensive. *_* But of course it has a title, being enrolled at the conservatory of music in UST Manila is an honor. And for that cost, I learned a great thing. And as lessons pass on by, I'm inspired every on and then. And said "I will do my best"

It made me really happy to learn how to tune, to fix the strings, and to read the notes! I'll do my best to be a great violinist as my sideline. I really want to move on. Even if I receive negative criticism about how I play the violin, it can affect me and make me sad, but nonetheless I won't "give up" no matter what! Lol, inspired by the anime La Corda d'oro Primo Passo, and wanting to watch the Secondo passo (2nd season) so much!!!! :333

Because I started this... Thus I want to finish every single step to reach the top.

Lol, my hands hurt, :) ...

Playing the violin was really a challenge and it affected my love for drawing coz I am a left handed, but at the same time I was scared of losing my talent from my left hand because of practice (orz). . I have finger corns ... yeah ... up to now.. but it wont make me stop to draw.... AJA

My First Violin Recital!!!

My first violin recital has ended today!!! It was so fun and i love that i have experienced it. Though I did some mistakes on my recital, I said to myself, It's ok Diana, you can do it! And then I was so relieved after many of the performers ended their piece, so they also made some mistakes. Meaning to say, I was not alone to have done such mistakes. Though I could have done better, but nevertheless, I will always do my best! :D

Anime Eyes CG Tutorial

Hi guys! Eizu here, I just want to show a simple step by step tutorial but an effective one.
This is about digitally drawing very cute anime eyes, the Eizu way.

CG lineart and coloring

Difficulty level:

All right, well this one is a lot more fun to work with. Because it's open to all the details but it's very long to finish, I have finished mine quite long, so patience is needed when you are CG-ing. This tutorial implicates from imaginations, to sketch, to lineart, and to colour various styles. It's highly recommended that you first learn the basics in photoshop to have no confusion on this tutorial. And by the way the characters I presented from this tut is Romeo and Juliet, an anime series composed dramatically beautiful. Enjoy! (lol, I create undefined title like this one, lmao)

Process of TERROR

Requirements: Photoshop (any version should do), I used a drawing tablet but mouse can also do, first create you're lineart then scan it to your computer and cleanup things, there's also many tutorials out there about traditional linearts then digitally coloured, I used to be that way, and the experience is worth it. :D

And yes, I do not use the gradient directly to my lineart, I always use the lasso tool the hard way. :P

Another great DDR experience

Well of course i will never forget one of my first experience in dancing in DDR with my best friend Coleen / Satsuki-chan.

Yesterday was a blast, my family visited me from Manila yesterday to find a new dorm... Lol, it was so exhausting. We visited many dorms, others were... unlikely high priced and other were very like... dangerous? Somewhat somehow, lol.

My 2 younger brothers were tired of walking. We walked across UST, and it was my brother's first time to walk there (we're one year apart, yep he's the 2nd). And btw, my brother will be enrolling in UST too, XD, i'll do my best to have better grades! (been studying already)

THen after this, we all went to SM edsa, lol, since my parents were buying something at cd-r king, me and my brothers went to the game station, lol, the cd-r king and the game station are only in front of each other. So me and my brothers bought tokens in courtesy of mom's Php100, lol, so that concludes 50 tokens! yippeee~~

SO i had to line up in the DDR extreme (i miss playing super nova), lol, i thought they'll never end dancing, they were like so looooonngggg!!!!

An outrageous P.E. day!!!

OMG.. i'm so super dupper tired today...

By the way, my pe is softball (kinda like baseball) scheduled every thursday 7-9am
I really like to choose this pe because its fun and since i don't like to register in folk dance or social dance (which is only the option i could pick) because that pe requires practice steps and all, unlike softball where you will just apply all the skills. >.<

And now, it's ipea week, lol i don't even know what IPEA means, well surely that its related to PE. And here in UST pe are only applied to first and to second year students.

And in this ipea week, we just have a superb aerobic! I'm totally hypered and totally enjoyed it! Lol te exercise lasted for 1 and a half more or less. =w =

And after that... i decided to play a wall climbing! O.o well at first i didn't because it was our dismissal on 8:30am and ma'am said that there'll be an incentive points if we joined the wall climbing trial ... (lol, 30pesos) but after a while ma'am said that the wall climbing would start at 9am... lolz that's a lot of time to wait and so hot to stay so i decided to go straight at home... but i started to think that i'm losing the opportunity of having fun... SO i then decided to play the game!
Ahahahaha,... lol i waited for about an hour to play!!! Me and some of my pe classmates registered at about quarter to nine... and then my turn was like... on about 9:55am, more or less.. and then came to my dorm at about 10:15am,... and now i'm here lying down on my bed writing this wrongly-grammared-blog... LOLz

hehe, mmmm... what else should i say? hehe

Another common day

My classmates just have some gamble on playing a basketball game yesterday... and they kinda lost, but still they're the winner! Hehe, our classroom were the cheerers while our enemy like, only have 2 classmates on their side. Lol we were like super duper support. Hehe, the boys really played handsomely. >.>

Ok, another same day, 1 prof. out, 1 subject on excuse (we filled up some evaluation test on the teachers) and one ok subject ACCOUNTING lol, i finally getting a hang of it, and understanding it was like... 3mins... the hell, so hard, hehe, okie, time to study study :))

Only here on the Manila, Philippines 2,500 pesos plus 799 prepaid for one month, and there! You have a broadband. Well the plan that me and my parents chose is the one on promo on 999 with a free cellphone ^___^ etc. O.O

And btw, i'm kinda watching miss fitrum now, where my batchmate kim de guzman won 1st runner up, congratz to her =D
